About
Spiros A. Moschonas was born in Athens, Greece. He studied linguistics and philosophy of language at the University of Texas at Austin. In 1994 he obtained his PhD in Linguistics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He taught linguistics at the Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies of the University of Cyprus (1995-1997). Currently he teaches linguistics and philosophy of language at the Department of Communication and Media of the University of Athens. His most recent book is Ideology and Language (Athens: Patakis, 2005; in Greek). He has also edited several books on Media Discourse and Greek as a second/foreing language.
